How Does Sending Money to Iran Work?
Sending money to Iran is managed through the Persia Money application.
First, download the app, create your account and complete the required identity verification and KYC checks.
Once your account is approved, choose Send Money to Iran in the application. You can see the applicable exchange rate and costs, enter the beneficiary and destination account details, explain the reason for the transfer and your relationship with the beneficiary, and then complete your order.
You pay for the transfer in pounds sterling in the United Kingdom.
Subject to successful completion of the required compliance checks, the corresponding local-currency amount is then paid to the approved beneficiary in Iran through Persia Money's payment and settlement network.
Persia Money uses an IVTS settlement model.
This means that the same GBP funds you pay in the United Kingdom are not sent as a direct international bank transfer through the international banking system to the beneficiary's account in Iran.
Instead, you pay in GBP in the United Kingdom and the corresponding local-currency amount is paid using funds available within Iran through Persia Money's settlement network.
You can follow the progress of the transaction through the Persia Money application.
