University Payments in Europe
Pay University Tuition and Student Fees in Europe
Pay university tuition, deposits, student accommodation fees and other eligible education-related costs in Europe with Persia Money.
If you live in Europe and need to pay education-related expenses for yourself or a family member, Persia Money can review your request to pay a university, college, student accommodation provider or recognised education provider. Students who have recently received an offer and are preparing to begin their studies can also enquire about eligibility for the service.
Depending on the institution’s official instructions and the available payment options, payments may be made through its online portal, using a supported international payment card or by bank transfer to the recipient’s official account. If the funds originate from Iran, we will review the funding and settlement arrangements and, once approved, arrange payment in a currency accepted by the institution.
Eligibility and payment processing depend on your country of residence, the destination, the type of expense, the currency, the payment method and successful completion of identity and source-of-funds checks.
Eligible University and Student Expenses
- Tuition fees paid in full or in instalments, and advance course payments
- University deposits and payments required to confirm an offer
- Application and registration fees
- Approved student accommodation costs, including room reservations, deposits and rent
- Language courses, university preparation programmes and recognised educational courses
- Official academic, laboratory, library and student card fees
- Student insurance and document issuance or delivery fees, subject to recipient approval
Visa and residence permit fees require a separate review of the official payment portal and the available payment options. Requirements vary by country.
Payments Before and During Your Studies
If You Have Received an Offer from a European University
To pay a deposit, your first tuition instalment or an accommodation reservation fee, provide your offer letter, applicant or student number, invoice, amount, currency, payment deadline and the university’s official payment instructions. If the institution requires proof of enrolment or additional information, these requirements will also be taken into account during the review.
If You Are Already Studying in Europe
Send the invoice or official payment request for your tuition instalments, term fees, accommodation or educational services. We can also review payments funded from personal savings or family support. Funds are paid to the verified official recipient.
Paying a University Deposit
To review a tuition deposit or advance course payment, we need an official payment request stating the amount, deadline and payment reference. Read the institution’s cancellation and refund terms before paying. Paying a deposit does not guarantee final admission, enrolment or a visa.
Paying for Student Accommodation
We can review payments for university halls or private student accommodation where the provider, agreement and payment details can be verified. Provide the accommodation agreement or offer, invoice, student’s name, accommodation dates, deposit or rent amount, and the official IBAN or payment portal link.
Paying Application and Language Course Fees
Application, registration, course reservation and language course fees can be reviewed where the institution and payment request can be verified. Each university has its own rules on card payments and bank transfers.
Funding Your Studies with Family Support
Education costs may be funded by the student, their parents, spouse or another eligible person. For family-funded payments, we may request evidence of the funder’s identity, their relationship to the student and the source of funds. Once approved, payment can be made directly to the institution without first transferring the funds to the student’s personal account.
Payment Methods and How to Submit a Request
Bank Transfers to Universities
The only bank detail we require is the IBAN of the recipient’s official account. You must also provide the amount, currency and student number or payment reference so that the payment can be processed and allocated correctly. Payments are made only to verified official accounts. For euro payments, we will assess whether a SEPA transfer is available when reviewing the request. Not all payments in Europe are in euros or use this payment route.
Payments Through a Portal or by Card
If the university accepts online payments, provide the official portal link and the information needed to allocate the payment. Card payments depend on the payment gateway, transaction limits and the institution’s rules. If the student needs to sign in to the portal, we will coordinate the payment process with you.
How to Submit a Payment Request
- 1. Create a Persia Money account and complete the required identity checks.
- 2. Specify the type of expense, your country of residence and the country of the university or recipient.
- 3. Provide the student’s full name, student or applicant number, university, course and academic term.
- 4. Send the amount, currency, payment deadline and invoice or official payment link.
- 5. We will review the recipient and payment method. Additional documents may be required.
- 6. Review the final amount, applicable exchange rate and disclosed fees, then complete the funding step.
- 7. Once the required checks are complete, payment will be made to the institution.
- 8. Keep the available receipt or payment reference until the university has credited the payment to the student’s account.
Fees and Exchange Rates
The final amount depends on the invoice currency, payment method, exchange rate and applicable charges. Review the amount payable and the disclosed fees before confirming your order. For invoices in currencies other than euros, the university’s accepted currency determines the payment requirements. We will confirm whether payment in that currency or currency conversion is available when reviewing the order.
Payment Times and University Processing
Processing times depend on the transfer method, document checks, bank holidays in the countries involved and the university’s own procedures. Completing a transaction is not the same as having it credited to the student’s account. Submit your request well before the university’s deadline and retain the receipt and correct payment reference for follow-up enquiries.
European Countries and Their Currencies
This page covers the European Union, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Liechtenstein. Each payment request is reviewed individually. The list below shows the countries’ official currencies; it does not guarantee support for every currency or institution.
- Euro (EUR): Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain
- Czech koruna (CZK): Czechia
- Danish krone (DKK): Denmark
- Hungarian forint (HUF): Hungary
- Polish zloty (PLN): Poland
- Romanian leu (RON): Romania
- Swedish krona (SEK): Sweden
- Icelandic krona (ISK): Iceland
- Swiss franc (CHF): Liechtenstein, Switzerland
- Norwegian krone (NOK): Norway
Payment Currency
The invoice and the recipient’s official instructions determine the payment currency. For example, Sweden uses the Swedish krona and Poland uses the Polish zloty, although an institution may accept another currency under its own payment instructions. Check whether the invoice currency is supported before providing the funds.
University Payments by Country
University Payments in Germany
To pay tuition, registration fees or an amount due for the academic term at a German university, provide the university’s official payment request. Specify the type of fee and send the amount, deadline, IBAN and student reference exactly as shown in the instructions. Accommodation payments must be reviewed together with the provider’s agreement or invoice. Deposits into a student blocked account require a separate request and are not automatically approved under this service.
University Tuition Payments in Italy and France
For university payments in Italy or France, specify whether the request is for tuition, an instalment, registration or an application fee. The official payment link or invoice helps us assess the available payment route. Student accommodation requests should include the recipient’s details and the reference for the relevant agreement.
University Tuition Payments in the Netherlands and Ireland
If you are paying tuition or a deposit to a university in the Netherlands or the Republic of Ireland, provide the amount and deadline stated in your offer letter or university portal. If the university offers several payment methods, send the full instructions so that we can assess which method is available.
University Payments in Sweden and Other European Countries
For universities in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, Poland, Czechia and the other countries listed in the table, provide both the invoice amount and currency. The country alone does not determine the currency in which payment must be made. Tuition, deposit and accommodation requests are assessed after the institution and payment method have been reviewed.
Payment Changes and Refunds
Once a payment has been made, cancellation and refund eligibility depend on the university’s or provider’s terms. You may need to contact the institution directly, and refunds may be returned through the original payment method. Once the refunded funds have been received, settlement will be processed under the terms of your order. Charges already incurred and exchange rate movements may affect the final amount.
